The Frankston Peninsula Multiple Birth Association is a non-profit organisation established to provide support for parents of multiple birth children. The Club was founded in 1981 by a group of mothers who felt the need for companionship and sharing of experiences with other mothers of multiple children. The club is open to all parents and caregivers of multiple birth children. The club is a registered Charity with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission.
The club offers members:
A buddy system – members not only benefit from the support of a local peer group but we also link up members directly with a buddy that you can chat with one-on-one. This program may be particularly helpful during this time of home isolation.
Webinars – families who are members of AMBA affiliated clubs or associations are eligible to attend the webinar series which cover a multitude of topics such as sleep and settling, emotional resilience and supporting healthy relationships and identity in multiples. For more details see https://www.amba.org.au/families/resources/webinar-series
Expectant Parents Session — this session is a great source of information, we run these every other month on-line or at Frankston Hospital. Please register via this link: https://fpmba.typeform.com/to/V5jxmS
Equipment Hire – We are delighted to be able to provide members with affordable, hospital grade double breast pump hire at a special reduced rate. We also have a “My Breast Friend pillow” for free hire.
Playgroups – We facilitate babies and toddlers playgroups.
New parents and pre-walkers morning tea – These are a great chance for expectant parents and new parents of multiples to meet other local families with multiples.
Social Events – Throughout the year the club organises free social events for all members to get together such as an Easter egg hunt, picnics, play centre visits, Mums nights out and our annual Christmas party.
Online forums – Access to our members only Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/fpmba2
Library – Books relating to multiples including pregnancy, birth, routines, parenting and breastfeeding
We also offer meals for families struggling in the first weeks returning home from hospital, crisis support and first aid training – these initiatives wholly depend on funding we occasionally obtain from community grants and fundraising events the committee organise.
